Privacy & accessibility

What this site collects

Nothing. There is no analytics script, no advertising, no tracking pixel and no third-party embed that loads on its own. That is also why there is no cookie banner: the site sets no cookies at all.

What your browser stores

One item, in your browser's session storage, recording that the entry animation has already played so it does not play again on every page. It never leaves your device and it is discarded when you close the tab.

The video

The development video is hosted on YouTube. Until you press play, nothing at all is requested from YouTube — the poster image is served from this site. When you do press play, the player is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com and from that point YouTube's own privacy policy and data collection apply. You can also watch it on YouTube directly instead.

Discord

The Discord links are ordinary links. No Discord widget is embedded, so nothing is requested from Discord unless you follow one. Joining the server is governed by Discord's own terms and privacy policy.

Hosting logs

Like any website, requests may be recorded by the host in ordinary server logs (address, time, page, browser). This site does not use those logs to build a profile of anyone, and they are not combined with anything else.

Accessibility

The target is WCAG 2.2 AA. Concretely, on this site:

• everything can be reached and operated from a keyboard, including the reality comparison, the plan scrubber, the district selector, the filters and the media viewer;
• the reality comparison is a real slider with text labels, so the information does not depend on dragging or on colour;
• no information is carried by colour alone — perception states are named as well as coloured;
• prefers-reduced-motion switches off the entry animation, the drifting fracture, the shader and the entrance transitions; nothing is lost with them off;
• the WebGL effect is decoration only: every meaning on the page exists in the HTML and the images beneath it;
• informative images carry alternative text and decorative layers carry none;
• the page works with JavaScript disabled, and works at 200% zoom;
• nothing plays audio on its own.

If something here does not work for you, please say so on the Discord. Accessibility problems are treated as bugs.

Changes

If analytics are ever added, they will be cookieless and aggregate only, and this page will say so before they go live.
